Nightbound Chronicles
“On going”
I began this project in 2024, the year I turned 29, initially as a series of nighttime street photographs taken with my phone. These images, captured in the stillness of the night, evolved from casual snapshots into a deeper reflection of the push and pull between tradition and autonomy.
In our neighborhood, where the city quiets at night, a silent rebellion unfolds. A group of young men who are parental Cohabitants, myself included, seek solace in each other's company. Staying up late becomes a necessity, not just a choice, as we carve out moments of peace within life’s exhaustion.
This project aims to capture these quiet struggles and moments of break, shedding light on the complexities of parental cohabitation of the youths in the Arab region and exploring whether this phenomenon stems from economic challenges or is deeply rooted in the cultural fabric of these societies or both.
