Soufian Chemcham is an Algerian visual storyteller whose work draws inspiration from the street life of his hometown, Jijel, and the cultural pulse of Hip Hop. His artistic journey began when he and his friends purchased a camera to document their dance performances, sparking his passion for photography.

A self-taught photographer, Soufian's work evolved into documentary projects that explore the relationship between humans and their environment, while also questioning the notion of time. His photography captures the intersection of Hip Hop culture and Algerian society, reflecting the ways they influence and shape each other.

He is a member of Collective 220, a group of seven Algerian photographers that aims to present a unique, personal outlook on contemporary Algeria. His work has been showcased at various festivals and exhibitions across Algeria, Morocco, Spain, France, Turkey and USA.
